Zorro was in a sorry state when he was rescued. He was underweight, had injuries to his back legs and almost has no ears left due to years of trauma. He was also very grumpy and uncomfortable and would nip, growl, swipe out and hiss if he felt threatened by you in his space or around his things - he just wasn`t comfortable around humans at all.

After some vet treatment and TLC, he gained weight and his injuries healed and our wonderful staff started to gain his trust with regular daily little visits and chats, taking along yummy goodies too. Once he was happy in our company, we then started clicker work with him to help build positive relationships but also to keep his very busy mind focused.

A few months on and we think he is ready to find a new home. He has come on in leaps and bounds and he started off initially sitting by his favourite people whilst he gently fusses and brushes himself on them. He now will come and sit on the laps of his favourite people head bumping and asking for fuss and attention which he accepts. He can still be unsure and weiry of strangers but everyday he sems to grow in confidence. Everything does have to be on Zorro`s terms though and he will certainly let you know if he`s not happy about something.

Zorro has FIV is a condition which affects the immune system of a cat, like HIV in humans and for this reason, he is looking to live an indoor only lifestyle, where he can be the only cat in the household. There is no reason why he can`t live just as happy a life as any other normal cat, he will just need to be closely monitored and have regular check ups so he can be kept happy and healthy.

Zorro is looking for an experienced adult home, where any children are older teens and ideally with experience of a feral or nervous cat previously. He needs someone willing to carry on working with him to improve his confidence and handling even further.

Zorro is not the easiest boy but he deserves a new home where he can feel happy, safe and where he can be loved and adored. He may never become a complete lap cat but he is certainly interactive and has such a cheeky character. Could you be the human he is waiting for?
