Staff vacancy - Events Coordinator
If you’re a bright, highly-organised events expert with proven successful events experience, the RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre would love to hear from you! Do you have excellent customer service skills, an eye for detail and a passion for helping animals? Our Centre is a rehabilitation and rehoming centre for the Sheffield area, and needs every penny to keep providing this vital support. We are looking for a Events Coordinator to join our newly established Fundraising team. Events play a huge part in the success of our fundraising strategy.
You will be responsible for planning and organising fundraising, promotional, business and external events. You will be running a range of events, ensuring that the target audience is engaged and we get optimum engagement. You will also ensure that we use the assets we have available to us to raise funds, including a schedule of hiring out our building and grounds to groups as appropriate, to raise much needed funds.
You will be the first point of contact for supporters and enquirers contacting us by phone, email, post or in person. This role will proactively seek new events business, answer queries, process, record event and fundraising activity. You will send out fundraising materials and resources, maintain our fundraising database and most importantly run events either at the centre or attend events on our behalf throughout Sheffield and its surrounding areas.
You’ll be a ‘can do’ person and manage the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation. The role is primarily hands-on and often involves working as part of a team.
We’re looking for someone with proven events experience, strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organisation skills who has a good understanding of IT and office systems. You’ll be focused and calm under pressure, able to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines and understand the importance of accuracy and complying with health and safety regulations. You will be a people person, managing, supporting and valuing the volunteers that will work alongside you.
Predominantly based at our friendly Attercliffe site in Sheffield S9, if you have the right skills and experience and you’re looking for a role where you can really make a positive impact for animals, Sheffield get in touch.
