Charity Emporiums

Our charity emporiums are vital in generating an income to support our Centre. We are a separate charity to the National RSPCA and have to generate our own operating costs by raising funds and support in the Sheffield area alone. Our shops help to support our fundraising efforts, through the sale of second-hand quality goods, donated by the people of Sheffield.

We currently have charity emporiums situated in the following areas:

We urgently require stock!

To ensure we have enough stock for our charity shops we are urging people to donate any good condition, unwanted items for our two new shops. Details of what we can and cannot accept are below. You can take items directly to any of our four shops, bring items to the Animal Centre in Attercliffe, or for larger volumes of items please contact our reception to arrange for collection.

Want to do a collection at your workplace? Contact The Moor Charity Shop.

What can I donate?

WE NEED FURNITURE

We can collect FREE from your home! (5 large bags or more and furniture can be collected)

Sofas must have an attached fire regulation tag, we cannot sell items that do not have this attached label.

Condition - furniture must be in a saleable condition, not broken or tatty - items that we cannot sell actually cost us money to dispose of.

We have two shops which sell furniture, one on The Moor and one in Stocksbridge and hope to soon open a further furniture shop in Sheffield. We are looking for donations of unwanted items of furniture. We are able to collect larger items of furniture that we are able to sell, FREE OF CHARGE in the Sheffield area. Please contact The Moor Charity Shop before donating any furniture to discuss the items in more detail and where these can be taken to or be collected from.

Moving or clearing a house, why not contact The Moor Charity Shop to discuss the donation of your unwanted or excess furniture items?

We can now take electricals!

In working order and in a good state of repair, we cannot accept broken electricals as these cost us money to dispose of. We can accept newer style flat screen TV and computer monitors but we are unable to accept or sell older styles TV and monitors.

We appreciate the donation of good quality clothes, bric a brac, new or hardly worn shoes and handbags, household linens and curtains, crockery and cutlery, jigsaws, books and jewellery. We are also able to take small items of furniture in good condition and with CE mark where appropriate.

I hear you cannot accept all donations, is this correct?

We are unable to accept:

  • Beds
  • Mattresses (including child or cot mattresses)
  • Toys without a CE label
  • Child car seats
  • Cots
  • Safety equipment such as cycle helmets.
  • Video tapes, cassettes and video recorders.
  • Old style TV and computer monitors
  • Broken electricals
  • Hair curlers, straighteners (unless new and unused)
  • Gas appliances
  • Magazines (both bound and unbound)

Please do not donate any items that are broken, chipped or tatty – we can't sell them and they actually cost us money to dispose of. If you are not sure if your donation can be sold at our shops please telephone our shop shop staff who will be happy to advise you.

When can I drop off my donated items?

We can accept donated items at any time during opening hours at the RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre or at any of the Charity shops in Sheffield - don't forget to ask about Gift Aid!

For furniture donations - please contact The Moor Charity Shop. Thank you
