She`s as big, beautiful and bouncy as they come! Zoe is a big silly snugglebum with a massive heart. When she first came to the centre with her friend Chloe, it was quite challenging for them as it was the first time they had been exposed to something new other than the four walls they had grown up in. Unsurprisingly, this made them quite worried for the first couple of days but it didn`t take them long to begin to make friends with the staff and show us their impressive bottom wiggling skills!
Zoe hasn`t had it easy and just walking on a lead, because it was new, was quite scary! Now she sees the lead and gets very excited about it as she knows that it signals fun times. When she first arrived, she was unsure about being handled too, it took time to gain her trust and help her to relax but now she loves nothing more than a big cuddle with her favourite people.
She`s not sure about other dogs, she does likes them and can`t wait to go and say hi with good manners and play bows but she can then start to worry and feel out of her depth. At the moment, Zoe`s looking for a home as the only dog so she can develop her socialisation skills and experiences with no pressure. With help from her supportive new owner, she may then when more confident be happy to live with another canine once more.
Due to her timid nature, Zoe needs an adult only home with experienced owners (ideally used to large breed dogs) who are happy to take the time to start from scratch with her. She needs to start with all the basics, just like a puppy. She is looking for a home where she won`t be left for long periods initially so that she has the time to adjust to her new surroundings and routine. Several visits to the centre may be needed to develop a bond with Zoe and she feels comfortable and safe with you before she goes home.
