Misha is a fantastic girl who came into our care after a change in circumstances in her previous home, meant she couldnt stay. She is a very special girl with a heart of pure gold but she is nervous at times and when she first arrived, she was really frightened. We slowly gained her trust with daily socialisation and lots of tasty treats, she soon realised that we are actually pretty cool and started to build great bonds with her carers.
Dogs can be fearful due to a lack of socialising, over exposure and in some cases it is even due to their genetics. In Misha`s case we do not know what has caused her to be worried, but we know with patience and tasty treats she can make new friends and adjust to new settings. This girl also has a serious weakness for tennis balls and will happily engage in toy play once she is comfortable with you - it is one of her absolute favourite things!
Misha is looking for an adult only home with dedicated owners, experienced with nervous dogs. Numerous meet greets will be required to ensure a solid bond is formed and to ensure potential adopters are happy to undertake a training plan to continue the progress she has made with us. We are looking for adopters within the South Yorkshire area so we can fully support them and Misha through the adoption process and settling in period.
Misha absolutely adores others dogs and is happy to engage and play but she needs to be the only dog in her home as she likes to be the centre of attention and will push the other dog out to make sure that she is! She loves her humans so much that she just doesn`t want to share them. Who can blame her!
This amazing lady has come so far with us, she is truly a wonderful dog and with help and support to continue to help her to grow in confidence she will be a smashing addition to a suitable family. You are sure to fall head over heels in love with her - just as we have done. Could she be the dog for you?
You can find out if Misha is the right dog for you by filling in a compatibility form. After completing this form our staff will check that Misha suits your lifestyle, setup and preferences and contact you to discuss their findings and, if a match does seem likely, your options should you wish to pursue adoption.
If you have submitted a compatibility form and are awaiting our response before travelling to the Centre, please call the Centre on 0114 2898050
